House of Truth Ministries
December 2018
House of Truth Ministries is about sharing the Gospel in various venues.
  • Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”  John 14:6 (ESV)

I have met with about 15 Mormon Missionaries over the last couple of months. My friend Greg has gone with me on a couple of occasions. One of the missionaries had two weeks left on mission and ask for Greg’s address so they can communicate after he finishes his mission. Please keep the missionaries in your prayers.

Jehovah’s Witnesses and the Blood Transfusion

The Watchtower has a history of changing its mind on medical related issues. For example, in the Golden Age (1931) magazine, the Watchtower taught that a vaccination is a violation of God’s covenant. However, in the 1950's, the watchtower changed its position.
Another example, in the Watchtower and Awake Magazines dated 11/15/67, pages 702-704, June 8th, 1968, page 21, the Watchtower taught that an organ transplant is essentially cannibalism. Again, the Watchtower changed its position in the Watchtower magazine dated 3/15/80, page 31. Why do you think the Watchtower changed its positions on these medical issues? Is Jehovah unable to guide His organization into all truth?
Now, I would like to look at some of the verses that are used to prove that blood transfusions are against God’s will. The first verse is Genesis 9:3-4. The thing to note is that these verses are talking about eating animal blood not human blood. The second passage is Leviticus 7:26, 27. Also, this passage is talking about the eating of animal blood, not blood transfusions. The same can be said of these passages: Deuteronomy 12:23-25; 15:23; 1 Samuel 14:31-35, and Ezekiel 33:25.
Now regarding Leviticus 11:4-8,13; 17:13-15; Deuteronomy 23:12-13, these verses no longer have any application for us today. Acts 10:9-16 gives us the reason why. What is the reason given here Acts 10:9-16?
Now, the abstaining from blood in Acts 15:20,28-29 was given to the Gentiles so as not to offend the Jewish brothers or weaker brothers in Acts 15:5, Romans chapter 14 and 1 Corinthians chapter 8. Also, please take note that Acts 15:9,11 make it very clear that salvation is solely dependent on God’s grace. Is there another means or way one can be saved according to Acts chapter 15? Does it discuss the loss of salvation in this Chapter 15? Does this chapter make salvation dependent on whether one abstains or not abstains from blood?
It was mentioned to me that blood transfusions are the same thing as intravenous feeding. This cannot be true, because the blood does not function as food. Walter Martin had this to say, ”When one gives a transfusion, it is not a sacrifice of life, and the eating of forbidden blood, but a transference of life from one person to another, a gift of strength offered in a spirit of mercy and charity.” (1) With all that has been mentioned in this letter, would you be willing to risk your life or the life of one of your family members on the Watchtower’s misguided interpretation on this issue? Feel free to respond to this letter.
